MeiSan - パチパチパニック!

Hello, Foodies! I noticed a strange connection: blog is being updated more often when I should be learning for exams and do exercises. Today I'll write few words about explosive sachet which was lying in my magic box. I have totally forgotten about its existance. パチパチ パニック! (pachi pachi panikku!) by Meisan is about a year past the "best before" date... Let's crack on!

 Packaging

It's just average. Violet sachet with funny can and "fizzing out" the name of the product. What do we get to know from the front side of the package?
  • グレープ (gure~pu), means grape, which is this treat's flavour,
  • it contains two types of candies:- round, powder ones which are すっぱい (suppai), means sour,
    - unspecified shattered-glass-like shapes of violet color which are
パチパチ (pachi pachi), saying differently はじける (hajikeru) - explosive! ;3
Too messy for me¹.

 Novelty/Appeal

Oh, okay, it's kinda untypical for me if something "sparkles" explosively in my mouth. Grape taste is kinda typical, but still...

 Taste

I tried them and... almost screamed. It surprised me! Grape flavour and sour parts started exploding in my mouth, small crystals were even bouncing and hitting my teeth. xD If you open your mouth, you can hear a crackling sound. It's so loud neighbors next door could call the police for gunshots. And I'm not even kidding! This stuff is powerful xD

In situations like this I regret I can't read the names of all of the ingredients...

Is it strange that this stuff looks like potassium permanganate? to me ^^' Forget it, Chemistry department is where I study after all...

I was missing surprise element in Japanese sweets. Oh, it's so good that I found this missing sachet. I laughed hard. パニック! (panikku = panic!).

Final rate:

¹Well I like that fact. It's nothing like you would expect sweet treats to be. It's like a set of candies you would see a mad scientist carry. Who said candies should only be hard, gummies or caramels? Sky is the limit. /Cinek
